About Enskubók
Enskubók is a personal website. If you find it useful, that’s great; and if it also keeps you entertained for a while, even better.
The site is designed as a simple space for learning English through short units, clear examples and practical exercises. It is not meant to be an academy or to have the final word on anything: it is a project that is growing little by little.
Who is behind Enskubók?
My name is Marcos Méndez Filesi. I have spent more than twenty years building things for the internet. I started in educational multimedia, back when CD-ROMs were the future and Flash was a serious technology. Since then, I have worked across backend and frontend development, software architecture, team management and the place where code meets business decisions.
I currently work at Softtek, leading projects for major clients, coordinating the Frontend and Architecture Centres of Excellence for EMEA, and helping teams learn new technologies. My work has involved React, Angular, Vue, Node, Python, PHP and generative AI, alongside quite a few frameworks that have since come and gone.
Along the way, I have also worked as an editor, writer, scriptwriter and teacher. Enskubók brings together several of those interests: educational multimedia, writing, interactive content and the pleasure of making things. Generative AI has also renewed my enthusiasm for experimenting and building; whatever happens next, I intend to enjoy programming along the way.
I write about programming on my personal website, mmfilesi.com. You can also find my professional background on LinkedIn.
Learning approach and corrections
The learning approach combines focused explanations with examples, visual context and practical exercises. Grammar units introduce forms and uses before practice; vocabulary units and stories place words and expressions in context. The aim is to make each topic easier to understand, practise and revisit.
I maintain the site and its learning materials as a personal, ongoing project. If you spot an incorrect explanation, an unclear example or a problem with an exercise, please contact me through mmfilesi.com, including the unit URL and the passage or question concerned so I can check it and correct the material where needed.
Information about your progress, favourites and completed units is stored in your browser’s localStorage. This means it may be lost if you clear your browser data, change devices or use a different browser. For now, there are no accounts or cloud synchronisation.
Registration is disabled, at least for the time being. You can use the content without creating an account or sharing any personal information.
Other than that, I hope you find Enskubók entertaining, useful and clear enough to return to whenever you need to review something.
If you find an error or have a suggestion, you can contact me through mmfilesi.com.
